Jason directs the adult discipleship ministries of the church as well as oversees guest ministries, which strive to assimilate and serve GBC guests, attendees, members. He desires to see all who come to GBC to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18). He graduated from Washington State University in the pre-med program (a degree in Zoology) before a career in professional sports. He has a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Westminster Theological Seminary. He and his wife Kathleen have three adult children and have attended GBC for over 20 years. He enjoys music, sports, and the outdoors.

Gar Hoover serves as our Family Ministries Pastor. He has a passion for teaching and discipling young adults to create lifelong relationships with the Lord. Gar attended GraceWay Bible Church and Southfield Christian School from Kindergarten to 12th grade. Gar graduated from Belmont University with a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Leadership and shortly after married his wife Susie who is also a Michigan Native. He enjoys skiing, hiking, and cooking fun meals with his wife.

Monique has a strong desire to live a life of obedience to the Lord and to serve Him faithfully in all things. This has led to a love of teaching children the truth of God’s Word—that He loves them and offers His gift of salvation, through faith in Jesus Christ alone—to them. She considers it an invaluable privilege to serve alongside families and faithful volunteers in training up our children in the way that they should go (Proverbs 22:6). Prior to joining the GBC staff, she worked as a diabetes research scientist at Wayne State University after receiving a Doctorate degree in Physiology. In 2014, she left the field of research when she and her husband decided to homeschool their three children full-time for which she is so grateful. Monique has also been able to serve as a teacher at their homeschool co-op and as a substitute teacher at Southfield Christian School. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, studying God’s Word, and making Him known to others.

Drew serves as the Pastoral and Missions Resident at GraceWay. With a passion for communication and interest in cross-cultural ministry, Drew desires to reach the nations with the message of Jesus Christ. Previously, Drew served as the Ministry Coordinator at The Kentucky Race Track Chaplaincy (a missions organization) and as Minister of Young Adults at First Baptist Church, Mount Washington. He holds a B.S. in Bible and Business from Columbia International University and an MDiv. from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. In his free time, he enjoys long-distance running, hosting events, and learning German.

Inell serves as the Prayer Director at GBC. God's vision for the church is to be a House of Prayer, worshiping and glorifying Him in everything we do corporately and individually. Inell’s hope is that she serves God by providing vision, encouragement, and many venues for prayer to the body of Christ. She has served the Lord in various roles in churches and as a missionary overseas in Africa for many years with her husband and children. She graduated from William Tyndale College with a major in religious education and a minor in cross cultural studies. While Inell loves outdoor adventure and fun, her longest standing adventure in life has been to learn to pray individually and corporately.

Jimmy Smith serves as our Executive Pastor and possesses a strong desire to see members of the body of Christ growing deeper in their personal walk with the Lord. He also enjoys spending time developing current and upcoming leaders within the church for the ministry of service. Before joining our staff in 2011, Jimmy served at a church in North Carolina as well as worked in the motorsports industry. He holds a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from Western Carolina University, and a Master of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his wife Amber, have two children, Jack and Addie. Jimmy loves spending time with his family, along with running, camping and playing softball.

Alexandr Weaver serves as the Student Director. He is passionate about leading the next generation into a vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ, helping students grow through shepherding, discipleship, and the teaching of God’s Word. After growing up in rural Ohio, Alexandr moved to Florida to attend Pensacola Christian College, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Pastoral Ministries. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in biblical counseling. Alexandr met his fiancée, Bella, at PCC during a short-term mission trip. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, indoor rock climbing, playing the piano and guitar.
